Databases are accessible off-campus to students and staff. If you are off campus, simply click on the database links below as you would if you were on campus. If you are off-campus, you will prompted to enter your network username & password (Your Blackboard login). After entering that information, you will then have access to all our databases for that entire browser session.

AccessScience: The online version of the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology with continuous updates reflecting recent research developments, biographies of scientists and late-breaking science and technology news.

America History & Life: Indexes and abstracts journals in American history from 1964-present. There is no full-text in this database. Check the Bunn Library Periodical Holdings for full-text availability within the library or ask a librarian for help in obtaining a photocopy of the article through Interlibrary Loan.

The American Revolution: Sources in U.S. History Online. Consisting of 450 titles totaling 94,000 pages of text. This digital archive documents the revolution and war that created the United States of America, from the earliest protests in 1765 through the peace treaty of 1783. The archive focuses on a diversity of issues through a wealth of original documentary material; allowing the reader to examine economics and international relations, contemporary religion and science, and the strategies and battlefield realities of combatants on both sides of the conflict. The experiences of commanders and common soldiers, women and slaves, Indians and Loyalists are all recorded in this collection, providing a richer sense of the causes and consequences of one of the great turning points in human history.

Annals of American History: Produced by Encyclopaedia Britannica, Annals includes over 2000 primary source documents, as well as images and media clips. The database may be browsed by historical period, author, or through a topical list. The database may also be searched by keyword or phrase.

BioOne: Provides a unique aggregation of high-impact bioscience research journals, featuring timely content on a wide-array of today’s most pressing topics, including global warming, stem cell research, ecological and biodiversity conservation.

Books in Print: Bibliographic information on over 3.5 million books, audios, and videos. Includes reviews for selected titles.

The Civil War:Sources in U.S. History Online. Consisting of nearly 500 titles totaling about 90,000 pages of text. This digital archive documents the war that transformed America, ending slavery and unifying the nation around the principles of freedom. The collection examines the war in all its complexity; its battles and campaigns, its political and religious aspects, the experiences of its leaders and common soldiers, the home front and the military campground, from its causes to its consequences.

Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO): The most comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It publishes a wide range of scholarship from 1991 onward that includes working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs (non-governmental organizations), foundation-funded research projects, proceedings from conferences, books, journals and policy briefs.

CQ Researcher: Appropriate for research on current events. This publication covers the issues of the day with summaries of both fact and opinion. Includes excellent bibliographies.

Ebrary (e-books): Ebrary's Academic Complete collection is an instant digital library with more than 49,000 multidisciplinary titles. The majority of titles in this collection were published in 2004 or later.

EBSCOHost: EBSCOHost is a family of databases spanning scholarly and popular titles, many in full-text. There are specialized databases for business, education, and health. Very large and inclusive.

Encyclopaedia Britannica Online: Includes the complete encyclopedia, as well as a Merriam-Webster dictionary and thesaurus. The Internet Guide provides links to recommended web sites.

Ethnic NewsWatch: Features newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic and minority press, providing researchers access to essential, often overlooked perspectives. With titles dating from 1990, ENW presents a comprehensive, full-text collection of more than 1.8 million articles from more than 315 publications offering both national and regional coverage. While the content may mirror mainstream media coverage, the viewpoints are decidedly unique.

Facts on File Reference Collection: A family of databases that includes historical and scientific encyclopedias, as well as a Curriculum Resource Center and a collection of reproducible Maps on File.

Gale Literary Index: An index to the content in the library's print collection of literary criticism and biography from the Gale Group, Inc. Titles indexed include Contemporary Authors and Contemporary Literary Criticism. After you have located references to your subject in a particular series title, use the Bunn Library catalog to determine if the library owns this series.

Gale US History in Context (formerly History Resource Center US): Covers both U.S. history, with full-text articles and primary sources, as well as access to the abstracts and citations in the premier U.S. historical bibliography, America History & Life.

Gale Virtual Reference Library: Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of over 1,000 Electronic reference titles- Ebooks- such as encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. The Gale Virtual Reference Library contains Ebooks in virtually any subject area including , history, science, art, biography, geography, literature, government, and can be accessed online 24/7. The collection can be searched separately by title or across the entire collection and provides unlimited simultaneous use.

Gale World History in Context (formerly History Resource Center World): Covers modern world history, with full-text articles and primary sources.

GenderWatch:GenderWatch enhances gender and women's studies, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) research by providing authoritative perspectives from 1970 to present. This well-established and highly reviewed resource offers over 260 titles, with more than 240 in full-text, from an array of academic, radical, community and independent presses. Access 219,000 full articles on wide-ranging topics like sexuality, religion, societal roles, feminism, masculinity, eating disorders, healthcare, and the workplace.

Global Issues in Context:Offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events. Featured are hundreds of continuously updated issue and country portals that bring together a variety of specially selected, highly relevant sources for analysis of social, political, military, economic, environmental, health, and cultural issues. Each of these gateway pages includes an overview, unique "perspectives" articles written by local experts, reference, periodical, primary source and statistical information. Rich multimedia - including podcasts, video, and interactive graphs - enhance each portal. Use Browse Issues and Topics, Country Finder, Basic Search or Advanced Search to explore the database.

Historical Statistics of the United States: presents the numerical history of the United States. This definitive reference work contains more than 37,000 annual time series of quantitative historical information covering virtually every quantifiable dimension of American history: population, work and welfare, economic structure and performance, governance, and international relations, all from the earliest times to the present.

JerseyClicks: JerseyClicks is a new statewide portal that features simultaneous searching of a suite of fifteen statewide full-text databases, including American History Online, World History Online, Newspaper Source, Health Source, Business Source Elite, MasterFILE Premier, and others. Some of these databases are available on the Library's Research Databases Page as separate databases, but this portal allows you to customize your search for multiple databases. To use JerseyClicks outside the Bunn Library building, you must have your Lawrenceville ID card with you in order to enter the barcode number on the back of the ID. The barcode begins with the number 2612. JerseyClicks is available from anywhere on or off campus, 24/7.

JSTOR: This full-text database contains a broad range of scholarly journals in the arts, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The JSTOR mission is unique in that it creates a permanent, digitized archive of the selected titles.

Literature Criticism Online: Access the following Gale Literary Criticism Sources Online: Contemporary Literary Criticism, Poetry Criticism and Twentieth Century Literary Criticism.  Our online subscription starts with July of 2008.  For more Gale Criticism, please use the Gale Literary Index to find print information about an author or a title of a work.  

Literature Online (LION): Literature Online provides access to over a third of a million works of poetry, prose, and drama, and over 120 specialist full-text journals and is updated monthly. Complementing a range of searchable, digitized primary texts, Literature Online incorporates an extensive collection of criticism and reference works. Also included is The Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature, Webster's Third New International Dictionary, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary, as well as a compilation of relevant and useful online resources from websites that have been carefully selected. Literature Online also includes a multimedia collection, Poets on Screen, which contains filmed readings by contemporary poets, and provides a unique opportunity to hear major authors interpreting their own works as well as those of their contemporaries and predecessors.

LitFinder: Indexes more than 800,000 poem citations from 4,500 anthologies, 5,500 single-author works, and 6,500 periodical issues. It also contains more than 100,000 full-text poems for which copyright has been cleared. Many of the anthologies cited are in the library's collection where you may go for the full-text of the poem if it is not in the database. 5,000+ Full text short stories plus explanations, biographies, pictures, and more. The database is updated constantly with both classic and contemporary stories.

The Nation Archive: Founded in 1865, The Nation is America's oldest continuously published weekly magazine. The archive includes the full run of the paper from that time. The Nation is frequently quoted and referred to in works of historical analysis. In the contemporary period, it is characterized by a liberal point of view.

Nature Online: Nature is one of the world's foremost peer-reviewed scientific journals. The online archive extends back through 1997.

netLibrary: netLibrary is an electronic book service. The Bunn Library's collection of e-books is owned in cooperation with PALINET, a regional library consortium. The PALINET netLibrary Shared Collection provides us with access to 1,788 copyrighted titles and a growing list of public domain titles. The netLibrary Public Collection includes classic works that are made available to all users free-of-charge.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center: is a one-stop source for information on today's hottest social issues. Drawing on acclaimed series published by Greenhaven Press and other Gale imprints, OVRC features viewpoint articles, topic overviews, full-text magazine, academic journal, and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites.

Oxford English Dictionary (OED): The OED Online provides access to all of the material contained in the 20-volume Second Edition and the 3 volumes of Additions. For the first time since it was completed in 1928, the OED is being completely revised with quarterly online updates.

Points of View Reference Center: a full-text database designed to provide students with a series of essays and materials from leading political magazines, newspapers, radio and TV news transcripts, primary source documents, and reference books that present multiple sides of a current issue. The database provides 200 topics, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (affirmative argument), and counterpoint (opposing argument).

Project MUSE: The Project MUSE® complete collection offers a comprehensive selection of prestigious humanities and social sciences journals to support a core liberal arts curriculum at any academic institution. Every journal is heavily indexed and peer-reviewed, with critically acclaimed articles by the most respected scholars in their fields.

ProQuest: A very large collection of periodicals covering a broad range of subject areas. ProQuest includes four basic databases: Platinum Periodicals, ProQuest Newspapers, Reference, and The Historical New York Times. The New York Times collection is complete back to 1851.

Science Online: Provides access to the full text of Science's print version back through 1997. Also includes daily breaking stories through the online service, ScienceNOW.

ScienceDirect: ScienceDirect is published by Elsevier Science and provides full-text access to over 1,700 peer-reviewed research journals in the life sciences, physical sciences and social sciences. In addition to the full-text articles, ScienceDirect also provides access to 30 million abstracts from a broad range of bibliographic indexes. ScienceDirect may be accessed in the Bunn Library or the Kirby Science Center.

Scientific American:Is the world's premier magazine of scientific discovery and technological innovation for the general public. Readers turn to it for a deep understanding of how science and technology can influence human affairs and illuminate the natural world. In every issue, leading scientists, inventors and engineers from diverse fields describe their ideas and achievements in clear and accessible prose; the work of select journalists rounds out the offerings.

Teen Health & Wellness: Provides students with curricular support and self-help tools on topics including diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, diversity, family life, and more. Developed for teens, Teen Health & Wellness: Real Life, Real Answers draws on Rosen's award-winning series, including Coping, Need to Know, and others. Thoroughly updated and revised for online use, all content is reviewed by leading professionals in medicine, mental health, nutrition, guidance, and career counseling.

Thomson Gale Databases: This family of databases includes Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Custom Newspapers, Informe, and The Times (London) Digital Archive, 1785-1985. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center.

Times of India: The Times of India, the world’s largest circulated English daily newspaper available in full text from 1838 to 2001.

Times of London: is a full image online archive of every page published by The Times (London) from 1785-1985, making this a valuable primary source database with a European viewpoint.

Wilson Databases: Wilson offers a range of databases including The Amico Library collection of images, General Science Abstracts & Full Text, Humanities Abstracts & Full Text, Readers' Guide Abstracts & Full Text, Readers' Guide Retro covering the years 1890-1982, and Social Sciences Abstracts & Full Text.
